Meaning of Yellow Flowers

Do flowers have a special meaning - a customer once asked a florist in our London shop. Obvious answer being yes; of course they do, but difficulty is presented in that there are so many meanings for different flowers and they also sometimes vary according to particular cultures. Here in the UK we tend to stick to the more traditional ones and we hope always to present as much clarity on this as possible. Yellow colours are sunny and bright and, as such, are associated with smiling faces, happy feelings of joy, light heartedness and friendship. I can just about see the face of a lucky person who receives a hand tied bouquet of sunflowers, daffodils or yellow sun-kissed chrysanthemums. Remember also that yellow combines well with other colours and is surely one of the best flowers when needing to cheer someone up.
