Christmas Tree Sales So Far and Tips on Tree Care

Author: Flower Station
'

After a week of Christmas tree sales here at Flower Station and some very, very cold weather indeed, it is good to see that most of the people have kept their spirits up, certainly if the sale of our Christmas trees is anything to go by. It is lovely to see families coming out to Flower Station, stepping out of their cars with their kids to the tune of Christmas carols that are playing outside of our florist shop just now as I write this blog. It has become a bit of a tradition for people in London to come down and visit us during this wonderful festive time. And people really do come from all places, which is both surprising and quite humbling really. So to help our very loyal customers, or anybody who has so far bought a Christmas tree, or is looking to buy one soon, I have decided to put a small article on how best to look after, or even choose your tree.

Wise choices are best left to the female part of the family

Before you buy your tree think about where you would mostly be likely to put it. Measure the diameter where you will place the tree, as well as the total height to the ceiling where the tree will fit in. At this point also remember to take the size of your Christmas tree stand into account and minus this away from your total floor to ceiling height. Make sure to choose a proper Christmas tree stand that will hold your tree properly and minimise the chances of it ever falling down. Here at Flower Station, we will recommend the ever reliable Cinco stands.

Sometimes slogans make it more clear what it is we're selling

Just like all flowers and plants, Christmas trees are also prone to drying out. As such and if possible of course, cut one inch of the base of the Christmas tree trunk to make sure it drinks as much water it can (yes it actually still drinks and it is usually very thirsty). Also, just like flowers and plants, the Christmas trees will not always enjoy a very warm room as much as you may. Certainly keep the tree away from fireplaces and radiators – these will most certainly ruin it when placed next to them.

Yes, I do believe these are real

When you arrive at your “Christmas tree farm”, or Flower Station : ), make sure you bring your gloves and more than anything else, please, please, please and again pretty please with sugar on top; do not come to pick your Christmas tree in your new Dolce and Gabbana outfit and Gucci shoes. Instead bring your old clothes, heavy gloves, some good rope and you’re pretty good to go. Of course, an even easier way is to just let our delivery guys sort it out for you, in which case those Gucci shoes do look mighty fine on you Sir.

6a.m. and ready for inspection

And once Christmas is over make sure to re-cycle your Christmas tree. If you’re not sure how to do this you can always bring the tree back to Flower Station and we’ll take care of the rest. If you would like us to find your borough’s nearest drop off Christmas tree point, please contact us.
