Elevate Your Thanksgiving With a Striking Floral Centrepiece

There are so many reasons to look forward to Thanksgiving! From spending quality time with family, to eating copious amounts of turkey and pumpkin pie, there is nothing not to love. But our favourite part about the holiday is not adding our finishing touch to the menu, but adding our finishing touch to the table decor with a striking floral centrepiece.

Thanksgiving Flowers

Celebrate Thanksgiving with your loved ones this year with Flower Station's beautiful collection of Thanksgiving Flowers.

It goes without saying that we will transform our homes for Halloween and Christmas to spread the festive feel. So why should Thanksgiving be any different? Falling in November, right in the middle of Autumn, Thanksgiving is the perfect excuse to deck your home out for the season. As the leaves continue to fall and our gardens and streets turn gorgeous shades of bronze, gold, yellow and orange, we can’t think of a better way to decorate our table than with flowers.

A beautiful floral centrepiece will definitely impress all of your guests, making your Thanksgiving meal one that they never forget and giving everyone an extra reason to feel thankful! What is so great about a centrepiece is that it makes your table look chic and expensive at very little cost and while it will look as though you’ve hired an expert to transform your dining table, centrepieces are so simple and easy to create. So keep reading for some inspiration for some simple, creative ways to elevate your Thanksgiving meal and make your table truly bloom.

1 - Spooky Season

Since Thanksgiving takes place merely days after Halloween, we don’t need to wave goodbye to the spooky season. Instead let’s make it last even longer! And what says spooky better than a pumpkin? Simply use your pumpkin as your flower pot and fill it with any flowers of your choice. We recommend flowers of orange hues to compliment the orange of the pumpkin, such as orange roses and orange chrysanthemum.

2 - Posh Pumpkin

Pumpkins are not only a symbol of Halloween, but are a long-time staple of Thanksgiving. In the early 18th century Americans gave thanks for the plentiful autumn harvest by having a celebratory meal by eating the crop that always grew bountifully - pumpkins. While pumpkins have always been a rather mundane, common fruit, your pumpkin table arrangement doesn’t have to be. Get yourself some gold paint and paint your pumpkin gold! Just like Cinderella you can transform your pumpkin from drab to chic.

We recommend combining white flowers and spraying them with gold spray paint or sprinkling them with gold glitter to make your floral arrangement all the more sparkly. White roses are always a staple choice, as are white chrysanthemums. For a burst of colour why not add some blue thistle?

3 - Fabulously Floral

While many say that less is more, others prefer flamboyance and excess. To ensure that your Thanksgiving meal is one your guests never forget, create a dramatic flower arrangement using an abundance of hydrangeas in autumnal shades of purple, white or orange.

4 - Starry Night

Make your Thanksgiving meal truly magical with some carefully placed fairy lights. You can run these along the centre of your table so that your entire table twinkles, or you can incorporate lights into your bouquet so that your floral centrepiece sparkles and glimmers.

5 - Delicately Dried

A floral centrepiece made from dried flowers means you can use your favourite off-season blooms! Not only that, but a dried flower arrangement is incredibly fitting for Autumn - the leaves are crisp and dry and so should be our flowers!

6 - Falling for Fall

This Autumnal floral arrangement will be sure to capture the essence of the season and give your guests that festive feeling. Combine roses of autumnal shades of orange, yellow and red, with yellow dahlias, yellow and orange chrysanthemums and orange pincushions, with orange-toned foliage for an added touch.

7 - Happy Holidays

The Holidays should be times of happiness and joy spent with our loved ones so your Thanksgiving decor should encapsulate such happiness and vibrance. We can’t think of a happier choice of flower than sunflowers, with bright, brilliant yellow petals and tall, dark green stems. Bunch together your favourite sunflowers and place them in a tall vase to add a burst of sunshine to your meal.

8 - Wild and Free

Since Thanksgiving first began by giving thanks for the plentiful harvest, we can’t think of a better way to decorate our Thanksgiving table than with a wild, natural looking floral arrangement that pays homage to the magic of nature. The key to creating this natural look is variety. Variety of colours, variety of shades, variety of sizes and a variety of length! Another element you must not forget is foliage - the more the better.

9 - Garnished in Green

If you’re looking for something a little more neutral, we can’t recommend a green arrangement enough. Simply mix and match your favourite plants and leaves for a simple, elegant yet eye-catching centrepiece.

10 - Less is More

Get back to basics with a simplistic arrangement. We recommend simply placing a generous amount of baby’s breath in a short, clear vase, creating an ethereal look.

11 - Pretty in Pink

Give your Thanksgiving meal a feminine touch by adding a burst of pink to your table with this pink floral centrepiece. You can either use a pink vase or pot or, for something more seasonal, use a pumpkin and paint it pink. Then, fill your chosen pink vessel with a variety of pink and fuschia blooms. Why not add some pink roses and pink chrysanthemums, with a handful of foliage.

12 - Woody Wonderland

For something a little rustic, add wooden branches and pine cones to your floral centrepiece. Choose any autumnal, seasonal blooms of your choice and add your wooden bouquet fillers!

13 - Forest Feast

For a forest-inspired centrepiece, combine red and orange roses, with eucalyptus and ilex berries for the fillers. This centrepiece is perfect for those looking to venture away from the traditional and embrace the hues of Autumn.

14 - A Moment for Monochrome

Monochromatic floral centrepieces are bold and brilliant, certain to impress your guests. Simply choose a colour and stick with it! You can either create a centrepiece of a range of flowers in the same shade, or stick with one flower and keep it simple.

15 - Harvest the Happiness

Bunch together a generous amount of wheat and place it in a simple, plain vase of choice. We can’t think of a more fitting centrepiece to celebrate a holiday whose origins lie in giving thanks to the harvest.
