Introducing Our Team – Miki The Amazing Flower Design Guru
Making up beautiful bouquets is an art and we have certainly been blessed with a few florist artists here at London’s Flower Station. This month we have held a competition between our most amazing florists to see who can design the most beautiful bouquet that will typify this time of year the best. We are pleased to say that the winner of this competition is the hugely talented Myklos. Myklos, or Miki as we know him, has been a terrific acquisition to our company ever since he has joined us over a year ago. When on trial we had immediately noticed the incredible talent this chap had and he is definitely marked as the one to watch for the future. Our director, who’s worked with some of the best talent this country has to offer, says: “There is no doubt that Miki is going to be a star in this industry. His style and way of composing is truly unique and it seems like Miki is getting more creative and imaginative with every day. I guess sky is the limit in his case.”

Cherished Rose Mix
For this truly dizzy hand-tied bouquet Miki has chosen a medley of vibrant and fresh colours that perfectly reflect our amazing sunny weather conditions, trees full of open colourful buds, and of course the vibrant city of London itself. The hand-tied bouquet is a mix of mango calla lilies, cherry brandy orange roses, spray chrysanthemums, blue agapanthus, green viburnum and hypericum. Not sure how he made it work, but he certainly did.
Hello Miki how´s your day so far?
I am in the park enjoying the sun (the interview was conducted over the phone). The weather is amazing at the moment, so really, really happy.
We´re obviously very happy to have you here, but what made you interested in joining our team?
I had heard about Flower Station and had tried to join once before when perhaps my skills were not as rounded. The first thing that impresses you is the look of the company itself which is very impressive and for any designer an attraction from the start. When you come in, everybody is really friendly and this is also very good.
What do you think of our company so far?
Everyone is really nice and I am very happy to be part of the team here. As in any big and busy florist sometimes it’s not so easy, but if there are some problems, they tend to be sorted out efficiently, which is very impressive as well as unusual as this is a complicated industry.
What do you think sets us apart from the competition?
More customers (big laugh at this point). A lot of things, not sure where to start (big laugh, again). I think even though we’re luxury florists, we’re very good value and prices are sometimes cheaper than supermarkets, which is crazy if you think of the quality of the flowers here.
What do you hope to achieve while working with us?
I am always looking to improve my floristry skills, this I know I will be able to do here as there are so many different florists here with varied styles of floristry. I think every day something new can be seen. For an aspiring florist, there is no better place.
What do you think you´ve taken aboard from us already?
Most importantly I think mixing of colours. Every country uses colours in a different way and in the UK this is no exception. The great thing is the varied customer base at Flower Station, which makes it easy to learn and understand different concepts all the time. I think I have benefited from working with Gula (our Islington florist branch manager, who happens to be a world class designer) and the way she mixes different colours is simply amazing.
Finally, who will win the Barclays Premier league this year?
I don’t watch football, sorry.
Thank you Miki, nice to have you aboard.
Thank you very much.
