Create a Pumpkin Flower Arrangement in 5 Easy Steps

There is something magical in Autumn. The falling leaves, the mixture of warm colours we see outside the window. It is always a great idea to welcome the coziness of Autumn into our homes.

For that reason, our florists have written the following lines to give you some idea how easy and fun it is to create a gorgeous floral design-pumpkin flower arrangement.

It is a genuine flower arrangement with the main hero playing the pumpkin. We think it is definitely an unordinary table setting to greet your guests on Thanksgiving.

The impressive thing about this floristry creation is that you can arrange it with all kinds of flowers and greenery and a small pumpkin from the grocery store.

How to Create a Pumpkin Flower Arrangement at Home?

To achieve the Autumn spirit in full we suggest arranging seasonal flowers like sunflowers, anemones, chrysanthemums, or dahlias. These types of flowers will give your dining room an entirely new vibe.

If you want to enjoy your flowers longer, you should always trim the stems at a 45-degree angle to make it easier for the flowers to “drink” the water in. Otherwise, the stem can be tapped by the bottom of the container.

7 Tips to Keep Your Flowers Fresh Longer.

Materials You’ll Need:

  • Seasonal flowers;
  • Foliages;
  • Floral foam;
  • Orange or white pumpkin;
  • Carving knife;
  • Rubber band;
  • 3 wooden sticks;

Step 1: Crave the hole in the pumpkin

Use the carving knife and carve the top part of the pumpkin wide enoughfor the floral foam to fit inside. Pin the wooden sticks into the upper part of the pumpkin. Leave it for now as you're going to use it later for decoration.

Step 2: Crave the seeds out

Scoop out the pumpkin seeds and all the insides. To keep the moisture in place for longer, we suggest you put a plastic bag inside over the bottom of the pumpkin.

Step 3: Put a floral foam into the pumpkin

Cut a piece off the floral foam in such a shape that it would fit into the pumpkin. Make sure the foam will reach out of the pumpkin with 2-3 cm. Soak the floral foam into room-temperature water and put it into the pumpkin. You can also put flower food in the water.

Step 4: Start arranging the fresh flowers

First, pin your longest stems in the middle of the foam pointing upwards. Then add the short ones around them pointing to different directions. Make sure the flowers cover every angle.

At this stage, you will notice that the floral foam is still visible. So start adding the foliages in order to cover the floral foam.

Step 5: Add the upper part of the pumpkin

You have reached the stage where we will make use of the upper part of the pumpkin with the 3 sticks pinned on it. Take that part of the pumpkin and pin it into the floral foam. Do not add it straight but on an angle. If the wooden sticks are still visible you can hide them with more foliages.

Voila! You have an amazing pumpkin floral arrangement to fit the Autumn landscape outside.

Extra tip: After the arrangement is ready you can place it on a plate in case it begins to decay.
